3 Proven Steps to Put Your Mind to Sleep Quickly
If you regularly lay awake all night long, unable to put your mind to sleep while you’re flinging and reversing, you gotta love this article, because I will highlight one of the most efficient methods for promptly closing off your mind, and effectively falling asleep.
I think most people already realize that human brain must be in the Alpha brain-wave stage to drowse off. This is actually the stage your mind enters you’re still conscious, but your body and start to relax. It modifies your more rampant and conscious mind to switch off as you go into the realm of sleep.
An individual knows how it feels… when you’re lying on the bed trying to fall asleep, it appears like your mind is running on hyper-speed. It’s nearly like you’re thinking 10 times faster than when you’re just normally awake and alert. Actually, if you experience this often, I can tell you for a fact that your mind IS working harder than it is when you’re not trying to fall asleep, and there is a strong reason for it, here’s why this occurs…
Brainpower often instructs a principle: “What you focus on expands.” You observe, your mind responds to focus, and it goes together with the law of momentum, which states:
“Energy in motion, tends to STAY in motion”
“Energy stopped, tends to STAY stopped”
Otherwise stated, if you are positive about your life, and begin to create success, you will experience more and more success day by day. Success multiplies success. Then again, if you sit in the lounge to watch television and say, ” Aah, just one show, I’ll only watch only one show,” quickly you’ll be sitting there for 3-4 hours, and you’ll probably watch 5 or 6 shows one after the other.
The law of momentum is applied universally, in life, in physics, with yourself, and above all, with your “thoughts.” You observe your thoughts are very predictable and they are also contingent on the law of focus and momentum. Your mind is similar to a big ball of potential thinking energy, just waiting for you to give it a direction to think outrageously into…
It waits for and responds to your every command. It’s an outstanding device. However, most of us aren’t very experienced at “controlling” this wonderful device. Actually a lot people aren’t even aware that they can control it! And this is where sleep problems originates.
Let’s suppose your mind is a huge overflowing lake that’s just waiting for an outlet to pour into… Gradually, when it discovers an outlet, it starts with a dribble of water. That dribble turns into a stream. After that, the stream turns into a small river. Next, the small river is a huge unavoidable waterfall. Your thoughts act upon in the same way when you’re lying on the bed “trying to fall asleep”.
For instance, when you’re lying awake in bed, irritated and forcing your mind to not think. “I just want to have some good sleep! Stop thinking. Okay, starting now… I would not think anymore. No think… nothing. My life is nothing… If only I would eventually get motivated in my job maybe I would finally create the income to begin traveling rather than dealing with these problems. Problems, how can I… Ahh, I’m thinking again! Stop!”
You get even more irritated, and go over the process again in just a few moments. So how do you block it off? It’s simple, you notice, you can effortlessly control your thinking, except most people aren’t aware of the things necessary! The good news is, I’m about to present you the 3 step guide to controlling your mind. Below are the 3 complete steps that will enable you to not only stop thinking; you’ll also be capable of lowering your brain-waves into the alpha brain-state, which will promptly let you enter sleep…
The 3-Step Process
Step 1: Awareness
The beginning step to changing anything is becoming aware that it’s happening, particularly if it’s your own mind. Assume your mind is racing, and you finally recognize that you’re thinking… Most people at this stage get awfully irritated and “try” to force the mind into submission. It doesn’t work! Why? For the reason that what you focus on expands. The more irritated you are, the more you’re focusing on irritation, so you’ll get even MORE irritation, and more thinking… on and on!
Therefore the first step is to merely become “aware” of the fact that you’re thinking. And not anything more. When you see that you’re thinking, smile to yourself, and say, “I just noticed myself thinking… Interesting…”
Now note down what happens inside of you when you do this… something very profound. If “I” just noticed “myself” thinking, conceivably there are two entirely separate identities running your life? You have the “I” and you have the “self.”
The “I”, is the real you, the higher being, the “I” behind the mind, that executes the inner being, the heart, the soul, the true conscious being, the choice maker.
The “self” is the mind. If left to execute the inner being, will run in endless circles until the edge of insanity.
The minute you do this, the minute you become “Aware” – you are no longer a slave to your mind. You have succeeded! After you become aware… do nothing, just lay there for three seconds and see how it feels to be present in who you really are, not the mind, but you, the “I” – there is a great feeling of peace behind that presence in the “I.” Why? Because when you are aware like this, you get to know the power of your choice making. Now you possess the power of choice.
Step 2: Relaxed Focus
Once more… “What you focus on expands.” Now that you are fully conscious of your thinking, all you need to do is “direct” your mind into a position that will bring you into a profound place of rest. Think about it, if before your mind will persistently race into any direction you give it; why not pick a direction that will give you serenity and restful sleep?
But, majority of us do not realize what that direction really is. It’s really simple. If you focus on anything your body does or feels subconsciously, you will start to become more and more realized. For instance your breathing, the sensitivity of the pillow on your head, the sounds of nature outside (unless you live in the city), the warmth of your body. These are all situations that occur, yet your conscious mind doesn’t think about them.
Now one more time use, “What you focus on, expands”… Then what would occur if you concentrated on something that is happening in your “subconscious”? That’s right, your conscious thinking would decrease, and your subconscious mind would start to accept the whole process of you falling asleep! It really is that easy, and it always works…
The lightest one, is your breathing. And I guarantee you if you just try this tonight, you will be surprised when you wake up in the morning: “Whoa! It worked!”
Step 3: Repetition
I’ve already mentioned, the lightest one to focus on is your breathing. In the starting, you’ll find this easier said than done. Let me explain.
- First of all, take your focus onto your breathing. Take a deep breath in. Hold it for a short while, and slowly exhale…
- Count “1″
- Breathe in again… hold it for a while, exhale slowly, and count…
- “2″
Why count? Because I promise, in the very beginning, you may find it difficult to hold your focus. Actually, you’ll be astonished as you may not even make it to “5″ the first time. This is because your conscious ever-thinking mind will chime in and interrupt. You may haphazardly go over into a storm of thoughts again. If this occurs, and it very well may, what do you do?
Simply become aware, and begin focusing on your breathing again. Guess what happens? As you become aware, 2 or 3 times… your mind will give up. I guarantee you, beyond the shadow of a doubt, when you get to “10″ or “15″ breaths you will feel a wave of relaxation in your body. This is the silent “click” as your mind shifts from the high frequency Beta brain-waves into Alpha brain-waves. Your subconscious mind will do the rest for you!

Pseudo-Science is bad for all of us. I makes me cringe to read ridiculousness like “If you are positive about your life, and begin to create success, you will experience more and more success day by day.” For goodness sake people being positive means evaluating things in a more positive light and of course if you reevaluate a certain instance in a more positive way your feelings of success will be higher. Yet nothing has change except your evaluation. This is the principal behind the snake in the garden of Eden. The ability to evaluate is original sin. Separating the good from the bad and placing one of those labels on a situation. Ditch the evaluation a view each episode of your life a necessary and unique experience and bask in the awe of the rarity of your journey. Then you without mental diarrhea that keeps you up at night.
